A few words about my practice...

My work moves between songs, sound works and studies, exploring memory, landscape and attentive listening.

I see these forms as different expressions of the same practice. Some ideas become songs, others evolve into long-form listening pieces, while others remain studies or sketches.

Voice, guitar, stomp boxes, field recordings and subtle electronics form the core of my work.

A few words about me…

I am a Belgian musician and songwriter based near Brussels in Belgium.

I was born in Cameroon and grew up in Senegal, where the landscapes, everyday sounds and musical traditions left a lasting imprint on the way I hear and make music. Although I later devoted many years to studying jazz guitar, harmony, classical singing and composition, it was ultimately memory rather than technique that helped me find my own musical voice.

Between 2006 and 2013, I explored improvisation and experimental noise as guitarist and composer in the duo Five Minutes to Eat Jack. During a difficult period in my life, I gradually stepped away from that world and returned to songwriting. Looking back to the places and emotions of my childhood became a way of rediscovering what making music truly meant to me, leading to the recording of Hellos and Goodbyes.

Since then, my work has continued to evolve through collaborations, solo recordings and long-term projects that often take years to reach their final form. Whether I’m writing songs, collecting environmental sounds or exploring more experimental forms, I try to approach each project with patience, allowing it to develop at its own pace rather than according to expectations or release schedules.

More recently, writing and singing in French has become another step in this ongoing search for a more direct and personal form of expression. Today, my work moves freely between songwriting, field recording and experimental music, guided by a desire to create work that feels honest, carefully considered and true to my own experience.
